It’s good for making many dishes as a meat substitute

These are tiny 15 oz. cans. Not the larger sized cans that used to be what you would buy. And the price is high for such tiny cans. The product is good. The packaging and the price are not good.

I have used this ground beef substitute off and of for decades. While not perfect, it can be removed from the can and carefully sliced to make burger patties. I always add some onion powder and soy sauce before frying. Also good to combine with other ingredients to make vegetarian dishes. I appreciate the fact that none of the cans I ordered had any dents in them, which had been a problem for several years.

I first tried this because my favorite pizza place uses it on their veggie pizza, and I was curious to see how it tasted on its own. Turns out, it’s a great plant-based option with a nice texture and flavor! It works really well on pizza, but I’ve also found it makes amazing tacos—just season it up, and it soaks in the flavors beautifully. The consistency is soft but holds up well in different dishes, and it’s super convenient to have on hand for quick meals. Definitely a solid pantry staple for plant-based cooking!

Albeit this product is great there has been a dramatic change not only in the labeling but also the amount given per can. Instead of 20 oz per can you’re now getting 15 oz per can all for the same price. Essentially losing 5 oz per can you lose what amounts to 5 cans. So should you be a periodic buyer such as I then get ready for what arrives. It’s not an optical illusion.

I ordered the Loma Linda Loma vegetarian burger 12 pack as a replacement for Morning Star Grillers Choice frozen burgers, price of which reached a dollar an burger prior to becoming unavailable at any price., and after being disappointed with the flavors of every other frozen meat substitute I could Find. Although time and effort is required to form and store the patties produced the favor is well worth it being better than that of the Grillers prime. Following a recipe for adding oatmeal to hamburger I mix 1.5 cups of oatmeal, 1/2 cup of dehydrated onion,1 tablespoon of Soy Sauce and a teaspoon of liquid smoke with the contents of a can of Linda Loma vegetarian burger. A 1/2 cup or the mixture is then formed into patties using a 4.3" burger press and each of the eight patties thus formed
